went running with bihua and yihui in the morning at the stadium. i still think that i will not pass my NAPFA loh... sigh... whatever lah. den went to eat mac....(wasted all my efforts in running... haha.)
den just now went to the substation to watch an english play call TEMPEST, which is written(or completed) by william shakespeare in 1611. its presented by The Theatre Practice. dunno how to conclude about the storyline becoz its simply too complicated and profound. so shall take out from the brochure."betrayed by his brother antonio, prospero the rightful duke of milan and his daughter, miranda, are cast out to sea, and left at the mercy of the waves and winds. they come ashore to a desolate island, where they remain for years. Now due to a fortitudious turn of events, porspero is presented with the opprotunity to exact his revenge and regain his status. by his mastery of certain magical arts and the aid of the spirit ariel, prospero calls forth a sea-storm, casting antonio and his colleagues shore. thus begins a game of magic and manipulations as prospero puts his plan into motion." doesn't sound tough to understand right? but the play is very profound and complex loh(10X "chimmer" den the synopsis). the director is martina winkel(austria) and actors are chacko vadaketh, jonathon lim, tan beng tian and yeo yann yann.
basically i really dunno what was happening in the play lah... went in with an empty head and came out still the same. mainly becoz i dun understand what they talking abt(they all spoke in extra chim shakespeare language that i couldn't understand most of the time). i was practically lost throughout the whole play, dunno wat was happening and why it was happening. so sad loh. but its all my fault lah, coz i dun have knowledge on shakespeare works and my english is simply like shit. but watever the story was about, the play was still not bad lah. to me, every play i watched is a learning experience. can learn abt different ways to act, to speak and also the use of props. like for today, the play had very simple props, which i dunno whats the purpose behind them(like got sand, water). den they also made use of puppetry in the play which indeed makes the play more exciting and at times, scary. lightings and sound were fantastic, especially the lightings of the puppetry, simply very qi2 huan4. actors are as usual, very professional, and i admire them. that yeo yann yann has appeared in TV progarmmes before, but mostly as in comedies. today i finally witnessed the power of her acting. zhan! there are actually 10 characters in the play, and yet only 4 actors. 3 of them actually play 3 characters each,yet still can depict each character very well, really pei fu until wu ti tou di.... its really a pity that i dun understand the play, or not i would have enjoyed it very much i think.
