1st of all, the pic on my blog is gone... i roughly know why... but im not going to anything abt it.sianz.
ok ok, finally i can rest... and get on with my holidays... had a busy week since tue... 1 week of my holidays gone... gone...
went to grandma's house on tue. i actually bumped into zhen ling at the malaysian customs... OMG... 4D also not so easy to strike loh...he was standing at the counter to my left... haha. just as i thought my stay in malaysia would be a usual and surprise-less one, i actually know how to ride a bike liao... HOoRaY!!!! learnt it in 2.5 days u know... im such a genius haha. i never thought of learning actually. its my mother lah. she wanted to learn herself, so also asked me too learn along. its tough to handle it at first, coz the bike was heavy and i was not familiar with the acelerator. the moment i turn the handle, zoom... the bike rushed forward, so scary. but slowly got used to it and with my cousin's teaching, i can now acelerate the bike smoothly, changing the gear from 1 to 4. but i still have not mastered how to acelerate smoothly again after i stopped at the junction. whatever it is, im now 3 quarter through my bike course liao. by the dec hols, i will be able to go anywhere safely.(ya gotta specify its in malaysia, and without a license of course)... many ppl there also like this one lah...
went back on friday, and on sat... went to the long awaited WORLD VISION 30 HOUR YOUTH FAMINE CAMP!!!!!!!!!!!! there were alot of ppl, but mostly from ajc and sajc. on the 1st day, we played several simulated games, relating to hunger, water and child labour etc. some of the games were damn tiring loh... like making us squat and tie our legs and hands to do work, pick up soya beans blind folded, transporting water and pass eggs with our legs. after playing all there games, everyone was practically drained...sweat like hell. just as we thought the toughest things were gone, the worse ones were here. its was already 1+ am when the war/child soldier activities started. firstly, we were to move in pairs, and eewee was to be blind folded. i was required to lead her to move around the campus for "night tour"... passed through the business school without any lights, but its not scary coz everyone(the cambodia family)were walking together. i had to lead eewee to walk up the stairs, slopes. den the "best" came. everyone went inside a dark corridor and we had to squat and duck walk. we were not allowed to make a single noise or we will be bombed by the water bomb. the floors were wet with dunno wat water the had a little detergent smell. den we had to crawl through a small tunnel. i could only lie on my chest to move forward and it is narrow enough to allow only 1 person to move through at a time. it really quite nervous for me lah, feel as if we were a indeed refugees like that. i told eewee that i had to let go of her and ask her to crawl forward no matter wat happened. the tunnel is not very long and divided into 2 sections. at the end of the whole thing, my shirt was wet with my sweat and the water on the floor. after that we still had to play a game where we had to run through a field, avoiding bombs. they sprayed water at us and my shorts were wet too. it was already abt 3.45am when everything ended for the day. den i went to change my undergarments and wiped my body. later slept at the grand stairs...
2nd days started off with collecting newspaper at tampines. not very tough coz my group was allocated with a few blocks of 2 storeys apartments. after that, we went to **** **** for ***.... well... its a little secret. for the rest of the day, basically slacking around back at NP... played some daidi... at night watched concert. the famine ended with a meal from thai express. its a very simple box of rice with meat and tofu. to me the rice tasted really ok, but some ppl found it lousy... well... dunno lah.nothing to say. im not someone who likes to waste food, and im not a choosy person when it comes to food. so i just finished everything loh... for supper, went to chomp chomp with bihua, zilong and zhen ling. we ordered stingray and satay... very nice...
my feelings for this camp: it is a meaningful activity of course, and i can safely say that i do enjoy everything afterall, though its REAlLY tired. if someone ask me to go again, i dun mind lah... the games were mostly fun... at least the whole thing is a new experience. i know more about what world vision is doing, how they are helping the poor ppl in the world.
