went to work yesterday again... liling said she will come, but she didnt!! i will get diana to give her a lesson on mon..
anyway, though i will be still be working here every sat, that is only if im free on sat. from wat i think, most prob we would be called back to sch for dunno wat de lah... so hopefully today's really not my last day.
after working for sssooo long at iras(almost half a yr), i cant deny that i will REALLY miss my days here. though i know its so damn cliche, but u know i often got that "ji4 de2 na4 shi2 hou4" feeling, when i just stepped into iras, had my 1 week training with the sups, everything seemed so tough and new. my knowledge of income tax was 0% before this, i didnt know wat was form B1, never helped my father to declare his income coz i didnt wanna do the wrong thing(now den i realise how easy it is actually). never knew there were things like child relief and rebates. infact, WAT WAS INCOME TAX??
till the 1st day, we all picked up our calls, yes that moment when my phone rang, i was so anxious... coz u didnt know wat to expect at all! speaking to adults that knew everything, we had to pretend we know our stuffs.. i still remembered my 1st call was abt the form IR8A, it was quite a nice lady, but forgot wat she asked, haha...
during all these months, there were new staff who kept coming in and leaving, but we(mainly the 1st batch peeps)still hanged on! according to my observation, we 1st batch ppl are the 1st ones to come and last one to leave. perhaps the reason is that new staff cannot get used to the job, maybe becoz we came in early, so got used to all the funny things that can happen.
the job itself isnt fun. but i would say its "enriching", coz u learn new things everyday, hear new "stories" by taxpayers... ranging from ppl who tell me they are poor when their expenses are like $5000/month, ppl who talk to me abt the nkf incident recently, ppl who say "im not like YOU all who earns 2 or 3 thousand dollars a month", hello, if i earn that much i wouldnt be sitting here listening to your complaints.. ppl who say " im a BIG TAXPAYERS u know"(i came to realise that his income is really not considered alot compared to others).
but there are loads of nice tps as well lah, got ppl say "i trust the spore govt de lah...", "i know u all very busy now de, so i better dun keep on taking up your time..." etc etc etc... if i didnt LOVE this job, i wouldnt have stayed so long. being in the call centre lets me see ppl from all walks of life. u can know how rich some ppl are... the richest one i ever seen to date is agnes' tp... he earns 10 miilion a year!! gosh!! as for myself, the highest one i met was 5 million... high enough to kill me liao hahaha...
i miss everyone in concen... esp the sups and colleagues lah(i mean actually still got who ah? cant be the director right?) i miss the days where we all have lunch together at long johns(yes i know LILING wouldnt go there again), magic wok, the 5th floor teh see... haha and not forgetting the "ban mai ban song" zhap cai peng uncle !!! back in office, i really love all our sups man... all of them are fantastic ppl, working with them is just so fun and happy... everyone agrees? i remembered when we 1st had our training, we all thot SP was a fierce sup, but ended up she's the cutest i think! and juliana is forever so approachable, wilson so good-tempered... hahaha... love them manz... even those who are not our official sups are oso so nice to us...
like wat i have said before, the reason that we TCOs are so happy working together is becoz we always have got that "i-know-wat-u-are-gg-thru" feeling... whenever we talk abt the tps, we get so excited... haha.. and we all have the "we-have-gone-thru-thick-n-thin" relationship, we have all come SSSOOO FAR.....from filling up the form IR8A to objection of assessment, its one whole cycle!
this job is the longest job i ever had, the happiest job and most interesting job as well... its a thousand times more interesting den maybe teaching tuition?? (haha im not a patient or caring person in the 1st place, but when it comes to listening calls, i really try to be patient, i dun flare at them AT ALL... i swear... i mean the call's recorded lah hor). i cant bear to leave the place actually, esp seeing ppl leaving one by one, its so sad loh... i wish i can come back again next year... see all my iras buddies again....(though i know not quite possible liao)...
ok i think i have said enough... life will still go on... and im reporting for matriculation on mon. sch life's gonna start again!!!
