>> here comes Part 5
im getting very lazy yo blog abt the trip cos got too many photos and activities liao... haha but highlights are coming up though...
now presenting the ultimate tw trip Part 5: jiu fen/ ping simy fave lu rou fan to start off my day. the girls will know that im a fan of the lu rou fan cos the gravy is really very nice~~

pan fried carrot cake with sth like soya sauce... its very nice also its crispy on the outside but soft inside!

trying to squeeze a group pic and everyone seems to be slanted towards me, damn funny de~

off to jiu fen!
But befor that we had to figure our own way how to buy train tix thru the machine that was not exactly that user-friendly.

inside the train. the train that we took to jiu fen was a short distance "sub-line", hence u realise there are no indivdual seats and it has only 3 or 4 cabins. thu we had the experience of taking not only different train routes but also different train types...

a more energetic pic before i doze off soon after...

after alighting the train, was another long windy bus ride up to jiu fen... the scenery was very good cos u could see the coast line...

here's the jiu fen old street, aka jiu fen lao3 jie1, selling all kinds of food and stuff. spot ah ping whose face was very very buay song like tt, dunno why.

under the hot hot hot hot sun at tw, we MUST have sth cool to refresh ourselves. so we had the famous yu yuan at jiu fen~ there are many many stores all selling the same but we couldnt care which was the best already.

the pinkish one is made of yam, orange one was sweet potato and the light yellow one was made of tapioca i think...

this are uncooked ones. we really wanted to uy home but since it had to be refrigerated and couldnt be kept for long, we had no choice but to give up buying.

nest stop: Lunch at the fishball soup stall.

the tung hoon was super nice and the tau gua bao had delicious filling and gravy!

this shop sells all sorts of hand painted caps, many were couple caps and they were very cute!

grilled mushroom... looked very nice but tasted ok only...

sausages and sotong balls!

we went all the way up and came to this place where u could see the the most of jiu fen's scenery and houses...

weather so damn warm and the sun was too scorching that we couldnt smile anymore~ see how pathetic we are?

group pic at our favourite spot: a flight of stairs...

next we wanted to visit the gold museum initally, but the some objections from ppl like me who couldnt walk anymore, the tired bunch of girls decided t settle for just some pics outside this house that was featured in zhuan jiao yu dao ai...

here's the train ticket...

the girl was was selling bentos to the passengers~

Next stop cum highlight of the day: going to pig xi to light tian1 deng1...

we took a train there again...

the place is situated at a suburb area and its was a big difference from taipei, cos there were not much cars, people, no shopping or shops de... only houses and its very quiet and peaceful.

here's where we bought our tian deng at NTD100 each.

the residents said we could light ot anywhere we like as long as its away from the electrical cables running above, so we chose this bridge which was away from the main roads and cars.

our tian deng before its opened fully. the traditional one is white but it comes with all sorts of colours and i chose an orange one!

here it is... its bigger den i expected and if u are going to fill up the whole lantern with your wishes, YOU MUST BE VERY GREEDY!

busy writing on my lantern~

the shop owner who sold the lantern taught us how to light it up. Basically u need to have a stack of jin1 zi3 (shit i realise i dunno how to say jin1 zi3 in english) that is soaked in kerosene that will act like the fuel. den 2 person will hold the lantern upright and opened fully, another one will light it from below. den put the lantern on the ground for abt 30 sec for the air to expand and rise, den hhhoooo.... up u go. it wasnt that difficult though we took a long time to light up mine.
im incharge of putting the paper onto the lantern. my hands were full of kerosene at the end of our session.

here's the waiting part for the air inside to rise and push the lantern up...

Up it goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hooray.... all our lanterns were lighted up successfully!

here are my wishes...

mine mine mine!!!!!!

ah ping's lantern was the finale~

returning back to the hotel almost became a mission impossible cos we didnt realise the last train to go back was at 7.56pm and by the time we were at the station, it was abt 8.10pm. we almost started panicking (cos ping si is so ulu that i doubt there was any hotel around). there was no cabs or buses in sight also... we sought help from the residents nearby and they told us the next bus was at 8.45pm. so we quickly rushed to the bus stop... but since it was still early, we bought at souvenirs while waiting for the bus... if we had missed the 8.45 bus, its might take another 1 hr before the next one came. gosh we were lucky loh... the bus ride was an Initial D replicate cos the roads are very dark and windy and all the turns can throw u off your seats de... damn shiok sia...

inside the train from mu4 zha4 which was the last station along the mu zha line. at first we thought it will take a long time to go back xi men ding, but ended up the trip took only abt 1 hr... and so the hungry and tired girls decided they MUST eat!

Back at xi men ding. time was still early (abt 10pm) and we finally had the chance to eat our ah zhong mian xian. we da bao-ed back to the hotel with many other food and it was a feast in the hotel room...

this was one of the most exciting day of the trip cos things went out of expectations and we felt lucky we could be back safe and early... eating out hot hot mian xian after a nice shower! the ping si tian1 deng4 was the highlight of the day and its really very fun and... but be prepared for all the travelling if you are really going there. and rmb to note the time!
