i know its damn late now but just wanna do a random post before i go to sleep.
went for my reproductive health module as usual today, and the lecturer showed us a video of different delivery...
throughout the video (especially the first 15min), u could hear the girls in the whole class exclaiming and covering their vision (yet wanna continue watching). basically im quite sure im one of them cos the video is
waayyy too bloody for me... i dun wanna describe the whole process in details but the video really shows the whole process of delivery, including caesarian section... its god damn bloody (with
blood ALL OVER, den lotsa
liquid, placenta... the video is meant to be shown to medical students also thus they do have some description to go along) but at the same time i clearly know wats happening when a woman gives birth, and so we should agree that a mother is the most wei da person. all the BLOOD and pain and forceps and cutting and stuff... i think those who cannot take these kind of videos would faint after 5 min.
but on a funnier note, the lecturer as sharing this with us. In all fields in medicine, obstetrics is the only field that the doctor waits for the patient (since he has to wait for her throughout the labour process). and that even if u are on the bed with your woman and having fun, u still have to LEAVE YOUR WOMAN for another woman(when she is in labour).
and the only field in medicine that your patients will
always wait for u is
Pathology.
this module is definitely the most useful one i ever taken so far in NUS cos the things i learnt enriches my knowledge on many illnesses, symptoms, medicine and of course the human body.
ok time to sleep.
