ok after a long rest for my exclusive section, time to let everyone learn sth liao wor... guai ah~
topic of the week: containerisation
watched this on Modern Marvels ytd. they were saying before containers were invented, ppl had to spend alot of efforts to transport goods across places cos they had to put in things like barrels which was difficult to carry and inconvenient. hence with the invention of containers, it made shipping extremely convenient and hugely contributed to trade goods transport. without it i think prob singapore wouldnt have been such a huge success as trading port. from wiki, we learn that there are a few standard sizes for the containers though the 40 feet one is getting more common. also another thing to know is that there are some interlocking thing thats one everyone container so that u can stack firmly on top of another. this is an important feature cos it means they can stack to save space and it also ensures that prob the containers would move abt haha~
