>> guest contributer: add-a-knowledge section inspired by Ms Lim
NOTE: the following topic to enlighten everyone is not from zee, but my dear thursday pal aka ms kumgong.she told me to find some hostage thing and effect thing about robbery and i actually found it just like tt.thanks anyway!!!
before i continue, i wan say something: i dun wanna see any jealousy and disputes arising from this! i love everyone dun worry~today's topic is called the Stockholm syndrome, is a
psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed.
The syndrome is named after the
Norrmalmstorg robbery of
Kreditbanken at
Norrmalmstorg,
Stockholm,
Sweden, in which the bank robbers held bank employees hostage from
August 23 to
August 28 in
1973. In this case, the victims became emotionally attached to their victimizers, and even defended their captors after they were freed from their six-day ordeal. The term Stockholm Syndrome was coined by the
criminologist and
psychiatrist Nils Bejerot, who assisted the police during the robbery, and referred to the syndrome in a news broadcast.
pls spend some time readin about the robbery itself here (is really inetersting and its part of the syllabus mind you~).now, say thanks to ms lim (its at sweden not holland anyway)!!!!!!!zee is one bit more knowledgeable today!
Hooray!
