i have decided i better just do a summary of the trip to bintan before i get scolded and before i become too lazy to post about it. due to the limited photos and activities, i will finish everything in 1 post. im so sorry eewee.... dun blame me... guai hor~
at the
tanah merah ferry terminal.
this is the continuation from my tw pic is the same pattern...
on the ferry... the ferry trip was not exactly very unstable but it just made my very nauseous and felt like puking...
we arrived nirwana beach club before noon i think and this is a group pic... the hotel itself looks quite lok kok but luckily the rooms were ok... spot us on the right hand side!
this are the huts we stayed. each hut comprises of 2 rooms. the only bad part was we need to walk up the slope to our room cos all the huts were quite spread out...

we were actually very bored when taking this pic cos we were waiting for lunch n we had no idea wat to do after tt...
the expensive but still eatable lunch...
after lunch we head to pasar oleh leh, thinking this would be a nice place to shop around and eat something cheaper... BUT.....
it turns out to ne the worst place we have been for the whole trip. nothing to shop, nothing to buy cos the prices were meant to chop u like a radish... we could only get some keropok to munch on...
as the shuttle bus to take us back still has some time before it came, we had no choice but to go a restaurant, thinking we can drink and eat something to kill time. to our horror, this meal is freaking expensive like shit. as shown below, we ordered 3 dishes, but they ran out of kailan so we only had 2 dishes instead (heng ah!) we ordered a plate of hot plate tofu, S$6.50 and sambal squid, S$8 if im not wrong and this was wat we got. 6 piece of egg tofu aka dan4 dou fu in a thin layer of ehh and some mince meat at the side. i assure u, the 6 piece of tifu came out from 1
TUBE of dan dou fu ONLY! and the squid prob only had less den 10 piece cos i dun recall myself wating 3 pieces even. we were super horrified by the meal which came up to
S$20 after taxes and svs charge....
after the torture at pasar oleh oleh we were back to the hotel to see wat we could do since it was drizzling the whole day...
in the evening, we headed to nirwana resort hotel which was a walking dist from our place for dinner. we needed something nice and good to eat to compensate our lousy afternoon at pasar oleh oleh... so here we are at the korean restaurant in the hotel...
the food actually turned out above expectations, prob cos we were comparing to our pathetic lunch, but seriously the korean BBQ was niceeee, i still miss the chicken and fatty pork, not forgetting the sweet sweet sauce!

Day 2maybe the weather pitied us, or maybe someone's praying worked, the sun was bright and sunny the next day and thus it was time for some fun under the sun! this also became the most eventful day or all... without our activities on the second day, u would have seen me swearing all the way back to singapore....
first activity: CYCLING. oh well, i know i often cycle, but its different when its your gang thats with u~ after cycling was beach time... but no no photos taken hehe!

which is the
ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE. even though it costs a whopping $75 for dual buggy an hr, i assure u at least it was worth or money cos we really had only bao4 dian3 of the trip here! the roads that we went through were seriously all muddy, steep, flooded with water from the rain and i finally felt im driving cos the vehicle has got plenty of power to climb hills sia... i barely need to go more den a third of the pedal to get it moving fast and steady on slopes... cool!
no one told us it was going to get very dirty after the drive and i was wearing my beloved mario tee that day... and so after the drive this was wat we looked...
all my shorts and shirt was like splashed with mud... if only i wasnt wearing this shirt, i would have drived straight into the water to let the mud spray on us haha!
i dun APPRECIATE this pic cos it looks like mummy driving her kid like tt....
halfway through, we were brought to a little hut to have a break before we continued. and here we bumped into ping and gek who were behind us cos they had a different instructor to guide them... and they are in a worse condition den us ....

here are 4 dirty girls at the hotel lobby befoew we walked back to have a shower...
after a refreshing shower and clean clothings again... we went for our dinner of the trip: Kelong restaurant! here are we on the shuttle bus there...

Butter PRAWNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is a must try cos the prawns are big, fresh and juicy!!!!!!!!!!

the meal was very very nice, the serving was reasonable. so it was the nicest meal we had overall. one funny part was tt we thought they only accepted Sing dollars, hence when they gave us the bill, ping looked at the bill and stoned, i asked her dun tell me its another scary figure, but she could answer me. end up we all took a closer look at the bill, only to realise the TOTAL figure read
rp600000+!! we finally discovered they took RP as well, and thus we successfully got rid of our rp in a single meal yeah...
after dinner we went back to our beach for the 2nd attempt to see meteor. afterall our trip is organised by the NUS astronomical society to see meteor rain... and we were really lucky that night. i managed to spot around 4 meteors!! u can really see them flying past, but den its super super fast and short de. so most of the time, before u even see it properly they are gone already. dun even think it is half the beauty of wat u see on TV. i say its only 20 % of wat u will expect. the fun part is staring at the sky, waiting for it to appear and yet u dunno where it will be and whether u will miss e cos u blinked your eyes. beside waiting for meteor, got 1 very nice the astro society member also taught us how to see stars and constellation, like Mars, Sirius, Orion and 7 sisters. its rather fun cos we never knew there were so many stories behind these stars... thus it was pretty much an enriching night by the beach.
ok this roughly sums 95 % of the trip. as for the rest of the 5%, i shall chk again if i have pics for the 3rd day cos we did do much, except for a buggy ride (different buggy this time) in the morning.
ok time to go bathe and have a haircut before i meet the LK gang for christmas.
