>> mgr's report on first and second day of work.
Day 1:reports at 8.45am for first day of work, sat at the reception but the hr person didnt come out on time. D came down, happen to see me and asked why no one attended to me, so she brought me up stairs to the office, 顺便 show me where our dept sits. 15 min later she told the AD,
" i think we can bring her back to J liao, they didnt know i have hijacked her here."den, hr briefed me on some admin stuff, brought me to collect my jacket, temp pass, locker keys and stuff and brought me back to my work station. den i literally stoned at my seat till noon cos there was absolutely nth to do. laptop and stuff haven set up yet, cleared abit of rubbish off my station who was occupied by others previously, went for lunch with my buddy/senior.
here comes the exciting part. after lunch, supposed to have a min_is_ter meeting at 2.30. i thot it was at our meeting room, but to my surprised, my AD said,
"ok come lets go for the meeting. lets take a cab there." and we arrived at m . o . m. there are 7 floors for the building, but suay suay the min office was at level 7.
in case u wonder wats the big deal,
level 7 is EXACTLY THE PLACE I CAME ! MONTH AGO FOR THE TOTALLY THRASHED INTERVIEW. i almost fainted when i saw the familiar holding area. am i like so fated to come here again and i got the feeling i will have the chance to be here again next time round. while my AD intro to me abt the place, i told me i came here for interview previously and she laughed too... den went into the meetin room, begin to see all the big big shots and its obvious i was a new face, so AD intro me to them and one of the c.e or D said, "
woah, first day of work come for mm already ah..." better still, the
min_is_ter came in and dunno which D commented its my first day of work. den he looked at me and said, "
oh izzit? which division are u in? im new here too, so lets learn tgt den..." gosh, i was damn nervous and stressed to the max can?! imagine everyone in the meeting now knows im a newbie... haha, but the meeting was a real eye opener for me. the discussions and stuff and how they are presented to the
min_ist_er, made me feel like im completely an idiot and young kid. anyway i wasnt part of the meeting, i was just sitting at 1 side and by right my job is to take minutes and notes.
so that pretty sums up my first day of work, and the meeting was a super highlight cos m.i.n meeting arent frequent and i actually happen to bump into 1 on my first day of work!
Day 2:nth to do in the morning, except surfing net to read more about my prog and mgt meeting stuff, familiarise myself with wat im gg to do in future, like write minutes, do follow up, collate data do report... den afternoon, came another mgt meeting! im super lucky can!? 2 days 2 meeting liao. this is a little less formal and work-based, with more discussions going round. but accord to my senior, today is very very peaceful, i should have my chance to see 3-hour heavy meetings... as usual, i dunno wat the hell they are toking abt and i dunno when i will understand either.
after meeting, i recv my first task of my career:
organise a
min_ist_er lunch with our board. managed to find the avail dates for the min ( from his PA) already, hope my calls go well tmr. i dun wanna flop my first task which is looks super simple to my AD.
